How To Survive A Disaster in New Zealand!

New Zealand Preppers Disaster Survival Guide

The need for prepping is diferent in New Zealand from other countries. We are not in any immediate danger from an atomic attack, and the zombie apocalypse is sure to pass us by. However, due to its location and environment, New Zealand faces many potential disasters. Just ask yourself how prepared are you and your family to deal with a crisis.

What would you do in an earthquake, or if your house burned down. In a major disaster you couldn't even drink water from our once pristine rivers without risking major health issues for your family. Most people think they will just head for some rural area where there is food but have you ever tried leaving one of our cities during holiday time.
Imagine what it would be like with everyone trying to leave at once. And even if you make it somewhere safe will it have shelter from the elements, what will you eat. Have you ever tried to live off the land. In a natural disaster, the government and local agencies will not always be able to cope with everyone’s problems at the same time.

With the economy in the shape it’s in these days, job security is shaky for more people that every before, and how will you cope in retirement. Keeping down debt, having insurance and perhaps some savings for a rainy day is essential to keeping you and your family fed and your house running in case of sudden job loss or a massive cut in hours.

You never know when an occurrence in your area will cause you to make a quick evacuation from your home. Having an easy accessible bug out bag, more commonly know as a survival kit or emergency kit, containing important documents and supplies can be very beneficial.

Power Outages
Sudden and possibly extended power outages are something everyone has to deal with at some point. Having some emergency prepper supplies packed away can make a huge difference in keeping your family fed and as comfortable as possible.
